Philomène Lesieur (Sister Sainte-Sabine)
Superior general from 1897 to 1903
Anne-Marie-Philomène Lesieur, named sur Sainte-Sabine, was born October 13, 1837 in Yamachiche and died on October 28, 1913. One of ten children, she attended the convent school for a few years before entering the novitiate in Montreal in 1858. She pronounced her vows in 1860, taught in Saint-Eustache and then in several schools throughout Quebec. In 1877, she became Directress of Postulants and from 1880 to 1885 and 1891 to1897, Directress of Studies. She was Superior General from 1897 to 1903.
