Receipt for classes in calisthenics at Notre-Dame boarding school

Calisthenics was a series of exercises considered beneficial for the physical development of children and young women. This form of training was established in England at the beginning of the 19th century by Swiss teachers and spread throughout boarding schools in Europe and North America. It was, among other things, part of the programme in certain schools of the Congrégation de Notre-Dame.
