In 1829, the Loi des écoles de syndics (The Trustees Schools Act), also known as Acte pour l'encouragement de l'éducation élémentaire (The Grammar School Act) or Loi des écoles d'assemblée (Assembly’s Trustees School Act) was passed. Article VI stipulated that once a year the trustees had to submit certain information to the government’s secretary, in compliance with the chart annexed to the original of the law. Every school had to supply this information to the trustees. The law was amended in 1831, 1832 and 1833, but remained in effect until 1836.
